Glacier Walk & Northern Lights Tour in Iceland

Visiting Iceland in winter is all about getting the full experience of snow, ice, glaciers and Northern lights. Icelandic Mountain Guides is the leading tour company in Iceland offering all sorts of outdoor activities across the island. Last winter we got a taste of the Glacier Walk on Sólheimajökull and a subsequent hunt for Northern lights around Skogarfoss ourselves, so we know you and your plus one will live spending a day with your guide as well. Walking the glacier itself was one of our favorite wildlife experiences ever, because it gives you a great understanding of how little we are, and how massive and impressive nature is.

The full-day tour, valued at €450, includes hotel pick-up from Reykjavik , transfer in a mini-bus, stops at Skogarfoss and a traditional Icelandic hotel for dinner, equipment for the glacier walk such as hiking boots (on request), crampons, an ice axe and a helmet and, of course, an enthusiastic guide stone-set to find you some Northern lights.

All you need to bring is lunch, rain gear and warm clothing – which brings me to part 2 of today’s door…
