Beautiful trip, PHOEBE! (I'm a Phoebe too!)
I would like out my Moroccan fantasy, that I've only dreamed about and have seen in movies! Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much, set at the Mamounia Hotel, was my first taste of Marrakesh. When I go, I'll totally be channeling my inner, carefree Kate Winslet- who starred in the stunning Marrakesh movie, Hideous Kinky.
I'm a Chef and would love to indulge in the exquisite cuisine of Morocco! Fantastic tangine, lamb and seafood. exotic sweets! I'd be in heaven!
I have a strong spirit when it comes to traveling, especially in the Middle East and North Africa region where I feel a strong spiritual connection to that area. My soul comes alive and my heart is full with so much love and respect that I can only dream of traveling to all of the countries in MENA. This trip would be an amazing and blessed start to my 2016, which I have deemed my "generous" year -- I plan on giving and learning as much as possible and In order to grow as emotionally, physically and spiritually I want to travel as much as I can and gain understanding to bring back to my studies in education and bring awareness of the culture and language to increase the discourse and acceptance of middle eastern culture in the West. Winning this trip would be a huge blessing to start this year off and I can only hope I win it :)
This would be an amazing birthday present for my next birthday in few weeks
I've wanted to go here since I saw Aladdin when I was little. It's exotic and would be such an adventure. The culture, scenery and customs are so different than my own and I would love to explore them!
There are three Travelettes in my family: my self and my two tweenage daughters. I started late at age 35 with a trip to Paris with friends; they got an earlier start at ages 5 and 7 on a family trip to Paris. Since then we have traveled the world together: Istanbul, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Reykjavik, San Francisco... We've been talking about Morocco -- the food! the camels! the history! -- and it is sitting at the top of our to-experience list. What an amazing gift you are offering to your readers!
I'm 18, and my life just began as a traveler! I saved up all my money and backpacked Europe solo for a little over three months this past summer! But the thirst for travel and adventure can never be satisfied, as I've learned. Morocco is definitely on the top of my list - somewhere very different from the western society I've been raised in. I'm ready for an entirely new experience to grow and learn even more!
i would love to win this trip! Ive been wanting to travel here. Ive been learning Arabic language from a friend who recently studied anroad and mastered his Arabic language class! I want to listen to story tellers, see snake charmers, acrobats, musicians, and folk dancers. I also have a good friend who is from africa and i always tell him how id love to go see parts of africa. Evn though Morocco isnt where he is from id still love to go and see the culture and experience the weather and people.
My grandfather passed away when I was a little girl, but not before telling me about his adventures in Morocco and Southern Spain (where he lived as a child)! Since then, I've been determined to see where my grandfather explored all those years ago so I can have stories to tell my grandchildren in the future.
Have been looking to go to Morocco for several years! Since planning and completing my Camino de Santiago I have been obsessed with more of the North African influences in Spain and am conniving a way to get there to check it out! I also have an old friend and her family who now live in Fez and they are forever telling me I have to see where they live!
I met my boyfriend while studying in Rome almost a year ago. He is 100% roman christian and I am just a regular jewish girl from new york finishing my degree very soon. We come from completely different backgrounds but have a seriously endless bond and love. We are both young and have little support coming in. We skype everyday and try to save every penny to make the effort to see each other. But unfortunately, we're running out of luck. We have traveled quite a bit together in the past and it's really the only time we ever get to spend with each other. Our story almost seems like a movie; and it's going to be our 1 year anniversary soon. This would be the ultimate trip of our lives for the both of us.
I haven´t been proper traveling since September 2008 and Morocco was always on my bucket list! I made it through 2015 - bruised but not damaged!
I had a serious health scare that turned out to be "only" an auto-immune disease in the end. lost two loved ones, ended a toxic 7 year relationship, lost friends, survived living under the neighbors from hell (so far) and had quite a tumultuous year at work. But I am still here and I am determine to make 2016 MY year! A trip to Morocco would be the icing on the cake :)
Whoa!! When I saw your first blog post from this trip, I immediately put in on the very top of my wish list for Christmas this year - now I can actually win it, are you kidding me?!
I am about to finish my degree within Economics in March, and after months of hard work, tears, and frustrations, I desperately need to go on a new adventure! I have covered Europe, Asia, Australia and North America during the past 25 years, and my next big wish is to see what Africa is all about!
So.. All in all, I am the perfect choice for the trip because I
- Seriously would like to meet some new, awesome people (spent the past six months only together with my thesis)
- Morocco would be my perfect start of exploring a new continent (and all of its amazing food)
- Would be the happiest new-hire on Earth for my future employer, if I could get to enjoy the sweet breath of travelling freedom before I jump into the life of adulthood and "real jobs" :)
Morocco for 8 days! Wow. Thats the adventure I wanted to have for such a long time. It would be the best Christmas gift without doubt. To see endless desert, Atlantic ocean, beautiful cities, meet new people and explore culture. Amazing!
You guys amaze me with each new door you open! A trip to Morocco.. To see the entire country! Oh what a blessing! Growing up traveling has been a dream to me. Something I'd read about in books, see in movies and hear others talk about. I never really got a chance to travel like my class mates so I turned to the one thing I had: my imagination and my books. I'd read all about the exotic destinations, even got travel guides for cities I knew I wouldn't see anytime soon and just planned journeys in my head. One of the places I dreamed myself to the most was Morocco (and Egypt!). Everything about me fascinated me. From the vast desert to the culture and history of Marrakesh all the way to the great Atlantic ocean Morocco was and still is magic to me! When I finally got a chance to start travelling (which was when I started having a little income on my own) I stuck to cities and countries nearby, and always with a friend by my side. I dreaded the big wide world as much as I loved it, as I simply never actually met it like that before. I'm now slowly starting to live the life of my dreams, trying to become more independent when it comes to travelling (hello solo trips!), reaching further and further to see the entire world with my own eyes, and making childhood dreams come true by (finally) visiting the places I bought guides for when I was in middle school! This is why this trip to Morocco would be the most wonderful gift to me.
Thoreaus's quote-- "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see" sums up what I want my Moroccan trip experience to be. I want it to be immersive. This opportunity is how I want to see Morocco for the first time.
Morocco has been a dream of mine for years! I bought a guidebook in 2011 and set my mind on visiting this beautiful and mystic country. But every time I actually planned a trip it fell through. Now I finally want to see Morocco!
Every time I travel I want there to be firsts - and Morocco would offer so many firsts for me: setting foot on the African continent for the first time, ridinf a camel through the desert for the first time, getting lost in a medina for the first time, enjoying authentic Moroccan food for the first time. It's the dream!!
Morocco had been on my bucket last forever! The food, cities, markets, textiles! beaches and adventure! I have 3 little kids, so travel is something I do rarely now, but I'm grateful the Internet has made the world a smaller place to explore. It would be fabulous to do some in the real world.
Marocco... A dream ! I've never been in Africa, and Marocco is at the same time so close and so different of France. I imagine a warm atmosphere, perfums of spices, lively streets...
I'm deeply a Travelette, back in my country since one year, a really tough year and I need to discover a new place, a new culture, meet inspiring people with good vibes, practice my passion of stunning landscapes' photography and just experiment travelling again. And it might be my luck ! I cross my fingers with hope !!!
Because I have never been to the desert.
What a dream come true trip! The architecture, the history, the SHOPPING!!!
What an amazing travel! I work so much, I guess the only way for me to take a break would be to win an amazing trip like this. My passion is photography on Instagram and marrocco offers so my beautiful sights, perfect for a Photowalk!
I was recently in Spain with a friend. I wanted to take a cruise to Morocco, but unfortunately my friend didn't want to go due to her anxiety, so I decided to cancel that plan. It would be awesome to have the opportunity to actually do it, bigger and better at that!
Wow. Morocco would be simply amazing. Definitely somewhere I've been hoping to get to. Spice markets, vibrant colours and culture. And who doesn't want want to ride a camel through the desert?
I've mainly been travelling in Europe and it would be amazing to finally see some bits of other cultures as well.
Also, I would have a lot of first times during that trip and would be so thankful for it!
This Christmas calendar is getting better and better! Africa and Morocco in particular have been on my bucket list for ages. I'd love to see the Atlas mountains and to discover the Sahara.
Why I am the perfect choice?! Well, I love to make friends on the road, I can handle heat as well as sand, in my shoes and elsewhere, I won't freak out in case I see a snake at one of the markets and I'd love to get some henna tattoos. Also, I am a semi-professional camel rider so I am sure I'll have a blast! Please travelettes, take me to Morocco!
PS: OK, the part about my camel riding skills was a lie. But I am sure I'll love it nevertheless. ;-)
Hi there! You girls rock! The prize surprises me more and more every day :) And this one is sooo exciting! I'm the perfect choice because it's been on my bucket list for a while now and I'd trade everything I have for this. Exploring this amazing country together with other travel freaks would be a dream come true. What is more, as I absolutely love cars and animals, the opportunity to go by jeep and then take a camel ride makes my heart beat faster :) I'm sure it's going to be a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget!
Me and my boyfriends first real trip was to marrakech (even though we were still just roommates back then). We had a great time but most of all i was overwhelmed by so many things: the busy streets, the noises, the smells.. Five years a whole lot of Travel experience later i would love to visit this amazing country again and fully enjoy everything it has to offer!
Solo travelling is my preferred method and how I operate. It forces me to look into myself and learn to connect with others. So far, I've been to countries that haven't forced me out of my comfort zone (Western Europe). This trip is the PERFECT way to do just that. Morocco is a land full of intrigue and mystery, and I can't wait to explore it and find my own connection to Morocco
Morocco is so interesting and so different from my my homeland and any places I've had a chance to experience so far. Desert, beaches, amazing culture.. Would be a dream come true to win this.
Wow! Every day your trips seem to get better and better! I have never been overseas at all, but I would absolutely love to visit Morocco! To have the chance to see the never-ending desert, ocean, and meet so many interesting people would be the best gift I could imagine! I love going on new adventures this would be my most ultimate adventure yet!
I was in Andalusia last year and just did not have quite enough time to make it to Morocco. So close, but yet so far away. I have wanted to go there ever since. Actually, it was before that. Several years ago I saw a British movie that took place in Morocco.
I'm freaking out!!! Morocco is my DREAM destination!!! I can't even begin to tell you how much I would LOVE this. I'm the perfect choice to win this because I can already truly appreciate the beauty that Morcco has to offer and would love to experience it in person. Thank you!!
Still freaking out lol I've been to your Facebook and to Travel Talk Tours three times now to check out this AMAZING trip. Just in awe that I could win. This 8 day trip is also perfect in the sense that after or before I can go up and explore: Casablanca, Rabat, Meknes, Volubilis, Fes, and last but not least Chefchaouen. *sigh* just typing the names has my heart yearning anew.
Whoops thought the comment part in the instructions was referring to Facebook! Anyways, I really don't know what to say to make myself sound deserving of this trip, but as someone who works for a nonprofit with foster youth and has a healthy amount of student loans, it's definitely been hard to travel the way I would like to. I honestly today was thinking of how it would be cool to visit Morocco and then (more than coincidentally in my opinion) came upon this opportunity to win this amazing trip! It would just be so cool to experience a different culture and place that I have only heard of in books and movies. I will just end it at that and wish everyone good luck who entered!
The feeling that I have when thinking about going to this trip can't be described in a few words, I can only resume it to a short list: excitement, curiosity, fear of unknown, the lust for a breakaway, the new sights, the new aromas and taste, the henna tattoos that I've always wanted,... Not to mention it would be my first solo trip on a different continent! What an adventure!
