We are happy to announce that Wan Ying will take home yesterday’s amazing prize of 2 nights at the stunning Negresco Hotel in Nice as well as 2 tickets to take part in the Pop in the City race! An additional pair of tickets to the race go to Dorota!
Didn’t win yet? Do not fret, we have 11 more awesome give-aways to go and they will only get bigger and better from here on in, so keep checkin in daily!
On the fourteenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… Nothing that could possibly beat this wonderful accommodation giveaway! This prize is two nights for two people at the eco friendly Hotel Relais del Maro in the charming Italian town of Borgomaro. This achingly beautiful boutique hotel is one of our favourites from the Green Pearls portfolio, a handpicked collection of unique, sustainable accommodation dotted all over the world. Go on, have a little scroll through their collection and you’ll see that doing your bit for the environment has never been so lux…
Clink glasses with your free welcome cocktail on arrival and explore the three gorgeous buildings that make up this exquisitely decorated accommodation. The hotel is an Albergo Diffuso which means it’s made up of historic buildings, nestled in the heart of a small community – this concept became popular in the 80s as a way of enticing more visitors to Italy’s off-the-beaten-track villages. The 14 rooms and suites all boast their own individual look, right down to the very smallest, lovingly designed detail, though all adhere to the hotel’s rustic, natural style. The stunning gardens include a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and terrace so guests have plenty of space to relax and play at being lady (or lord) of the manor.
This gorgeous hotel combines country life with all the mod cons you can’t live without – you can even request a yoga session or massage in the hotel spa – as well as the sort of glorious food you could only expect from a rural Italian destination. Champagne breakfasts featuring local cheeses, organic yoghurt and the freshest, seasonal produce just about put the cherry on the cake of this giveaway… But we’re going to add one thing more (just because we’re nice like that) – free electrical scooter rental so you can take a tour of town.
Speaking of the town – you might well be sold on the hotel, but just wait until you see the destination! Postcard perfect Borgomaro is nestled in the Italian north, near to the French border. Despite boasting a location that’s just a short distance from the coast and swanky beaches of the French Riviera and the Ligurian Sea, this village is a world away from those high fashion destinations in terms of ambience and culture. One of those quaint, chocolate box villages that wouldn’t look out of place in a fairytale, Borgomaro is all about rustic buildings, cobbled streets and the twirl of a parish church spire set against the Maro Valley’s jaw-dropping landscape. Experience local life in the village and discover the surrounding countryside, lush with greenery and glittering with a spiderweb of meandering streams. This is just the place to escape the bustle of big city life and get back to good old Mother Nature…

You had me at free welcome cocktail... but overall, this hotel looks absolutely stunning. Like it was taken straight out of a romantic Italian fresco. It smply calls great food, wine and la dolce vita... and those vineyards!
I would LOVE to stay at this hotel! The town looks incredibly charming and I would love to explore as a stopover on my upcoming backpacking trip!
Oh my gosh, this hotel really looks incredible! And so does Borgomaro! I'll be in the south of France with my mom in the spring, and this hotel stay not too far away would be the perfect gift for the holidays for her! This hotel looks like the perfect place to relax after a long day exploring the town... it would be so wonderful to go to the Italian countryside, eat good food, and have gorgeous eco-friendly accommodations :) Thanks again for the lovely giveaway!
Wow, what an amazing place to celebrate just about anything!! My husband's 40th? Second year wedding anniversary? Being alive and healthy? Too many things to list that would make this trip a special occasion!
I'd love to stay at this hotel because I'd get to live like I was in a Disney film, whilst being eco-friendly at the same time! Plus you can't beat Italian food!
Wow, that hotel looks absolutely fabulous. I would love to stay there with my boyfriend. He's been in Italy before and always tells how much he liked it. Going to Italy and to this beautiful hotel would be the perfect way to spend our vacations this year.
I lived in Italy for almost 7 years, and it holds such a special place in my heart. From the Italian way of life, to the incredible warmth and hospitality of the people, to the amazing, awe inspiring beauty of the natural countryside, Italy is a place I find myself dreaming of time and time again. When I lived in Italy I was largely a poor student, and so don't have any experiences of staying in a beautiful place like this. This would be a dream come true! I have never been to Italy with my husband (we just got married), and I can't wait to show him the Italian way of life!
This would be so great - I'm actually heading to Italy in late May early June and we still haven't booked all of our accommodations so this would be perfect!
I want to go to Italy!
I REALLY need a weekend away with my husband, and Italy is one of my favourite places in the world. I need a dose of architecture, fresh air, quiet, and good sleep at the Hotel Relais del Maro. It would also be my first stay at a Green Paarl hotel, which I am desperately looking forward to :)
My favorite destination, I've been saving for a second trip to Italy. This is the place in my dreams.
I would absolutely love to stay here. I love staying in small towns and both the town and the hotel seem so charming. This would be a great place to relax and explore.
Wow! This place looks like a dream come true! It would be the perfect place to relax and pamper myself while on my RTW travels! I have never been to Italy (or Europe at all) and I will be staying in hostels just about every night and I'm sure I could use a place as luxurious as this after hiking all those miles with my heavy backpack. I'll be practically drooling over the Jacuzzi and Spa by then!
wow the hotel looks amazing. love to stay there. nicely presented
A stay at the hotel seems like stepping back into time when life was slower, relaxing & enjoyable. It would be a joy to indulge in the yummy food, ride around town to map out local spots to check out during hotel stay. Real Italy!! La dolce vita!
I need a new story to write for my blog and this place seems like a perfect source!
My whole family emigrated from Italy in 1960 and faced terrible prejudice and poverty that led them to return only once or twice in fifty-five years to the motherland, never being able to afford more trips. The last time my mom saw her Italian family (of which she has 47 first cousins) she was in her twenties. She is now fifty-eight, and dying to go to the country she'd never explored outside her own home town, and yet is still sad she ever left. My mother is also deeply entrenched in the study of architecture and interior design, and so Borgomaro and the Albergo Diffuso look simply divine; truly out of a post card. I would love to surprise her with a trip there, it would make up for all the lost time she's never been afforded to travel the country of her birth. To bring her back to Italy, and more so to stay in such an incredible place, would do for us a pleasure so profound I cannot articulate it in a way i think truly expresses the emotion we would feel.
I vote that Siobhan should win this hotel stay for her mom.....what a story! I have similar stories of my own family and know that I would love to be surprised that way from my loving and thoughtful daughter. Good luck Siobhan!
My husband and I are taking a trip back to Italy for our first anniversary! We are arriving in Milan and were thinking of heading south towards Genoa and then along the southern coast of France. Would this be a nice stop in between?? Looks lovely!
Great round up…..I look back on my trip to Italy with my guy and it seems like a dream. I love staying hotels and both the hotel seem so charming. I think Italy is a beautiful and tiny excellent choice!
