The Travelettes Instagram Challenge – Recap #2

20 days after the launch of our Instagram challenge, we’ve had over 2,700 pictures posted with the hashtag #dailytravelette. Wow, girls (and guys, there also are some of you in the lot!), we are so impressed with your enthusiasm and, even more so, with your commitment!

Going through with an Instagram challenge for a whole month is no walk in the park: as the overexcitement of the first few days wears off, it becomes harder and harder to come up with creative ideas every single day. We simply cannot believe how many of you are putting in the effort to stick with us on this — and we are so impressed at those of you who are catching up spectacularly after starting the challenge a few days late!

Reflecting on those 20 days, I have realised that what I like most about this challenge — apart from how much love has been coming towards us, of course! — is how it allows us to learn about you all. For those of you who read this blog on a regular basis, you get to learn about our travels every week — but, for us, it is the first time we get to experience this kind of interactivity, furthermore with as rich a medium as photography.

This month, we have followed you to remote corners of the globe and been introduced to your hometowns. We have learnt that some of you dive right into the experience of unknown foods at roadside kitchens, and that others prefer to indulge in sweet summer treats. We discovered that some of you are photography pros with enviable amounts of high-end gear, while others favour the instantaneity of phoneography — and that there are even quite a few analog lovers among you! We found out about the books you love reading, the little souvenirs you like bringing back home, and the beauty you are able to see in little things.

Every day your photos have been creative, hilarious, thought-provoking — and, more often than not, simply stunning; this recap will give you a little taste of what days 10 to 19 have been like. Ten more days to go: we can’t wait for you to amaze us… again!
