“And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow,
stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so?
It came without ribbons. It came without tags.
It came without packages, boxes or bags.
And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.â€
These lines stem from my favourite Christmas story ever – Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”. And even though one of this challenge’s days was titled Shopping Craziness, Christmas indeed means much more than the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious presents we got for our families and friends. Christmas really is about giving love and affection and about sharing the good things in life.
Over the past two weeks your pictures have been part of my Christmas spirit. I’m stuck in the middle of exam time, and not only did the challenge give me a reason to escape the library every once in a while, it also reminded me of how beautiful this month is everywhere else in the world. You made my eyes sparkle with your little surprises and I hope you all keep going until we can start a new year together!
