A little less than 6 years ago, a new blog popped up on the growing blogosphere of Berlin. A globetrotter with a vision and a pair of heels decided to ignore the stereotypical image of a backpacker, and venture the world true to herself and her heels. A Travelette was born – and so was Travelettes.net. Soon Katja was joined by like-minded girls from around the world, who contributed their stories and shared their experiences.
A few years, plenty of pins on the map and many, many blogposts later, Travelettes is reaching more female travellers than ever. Last night we reached 100,000 fans on Facebook, and while there are no words to describe how grateful we are for your continuous support (maybe a video of us bouncing up and down in our living rooms would do it more justice?), we can think of a few things to do to celebrate a great success:
1) Express it, as loud as you can
Bounce up and down, cheer from the top of your lung, call every single contact in your phonebook to break the news.
2) Treat yourself
To a big meal, a bottle of champagne, a soothing massage, that pair of high heels you had been ogling for so long.
3) Share the joy
Joy is the only thing in the world, that grows bigger when you share it. To let your friends and loved ones take part in the success, thank them for their support and treat them to something special too.
To celebrate the huge success Travelettes has seen in all those years, and our milestone on Facebook, I’d like to follow my own advice:
