It doesn’t matter whether you are a novice wanting to experience the rush of surfing for the first time or if you’ve been surfing for years… A surf camp may just be one of the best things you’ll ever do.
Rapturecamps are the product of two surf fanatics, one Austrian and one Australian, who met by chance in Morocco and found they shared a very similar passion for surfing- not just as a sport, but as a lifestyle. The camps were born out of a simple dream of both founders- to surf great waves for the rest of their lives and share this joy with others. So, the hunt began to find the best locations around the world to set up these camps- places that were affordable, safe, easy to get to but still exotic. Over ten years later, and Rapturecamps now has three bases across the globe, in Portugal, Bali (Padang and Cliff) and (soon to be) Nicaragua.
Portugal-
With a world-class surfing destination on your doorstep, at Rapture’s surf camp in Ericeira, you can literally peer out your window at the waves you are going to surf. Located 25 kilometres north-west of Lisbon, Ericeria is a quaint fishing and seaside resort town that has become a mecca for surfers, hosting two world surf competitions every year. With some of the most consistent surf in Europe, you’ll find a range of beaches suited to every surf skill level- all within a ten minute drive of the Rapture Surf camp. The friendly staff at the surf camp will show you the best spots and can provide cheap surf lessons or surf guiding throughout the day.

When you aren’t in the water mingling with some of Portugal’s best surfers, you can sit back in the surf camp’s gorgeous Portuguese style house, enjoy a glass of local wine with your new friends and look out at the stunning scenery. Located right next to Foz do Lizandro beach and within a short stroll of the town centre, the Rapturecamp accomdation couldn’t be better positioned.

Rapturecamps offers a range of accommodation at their Portugal base. You can choose to stay at the charming whitewashed villa, a cosy wooden bungalow or opt for a self-contained apartment next door, perfect for larger groups, couples or families.
Bali, Padang-
With incredible weather, a huge variety of waves, and consistently great conditions 365 days a year, it’s no wonder Bali is insanely popular amongst surfers of all skill levels. Padang offers some of the best waves in the country, and the Rapture Surfcamp is just a stroll away from these incredible breaks. Offering both a surf school for beginners and surf guiding for more advanced surfers, the friendly staff here will do everything to make sure you get the most out of your stay here.
When you aren’t in the ocean, you can spend your time tanning on uncrowded, white sand beaches or hang out at the resort lazing in hammocks. If you want to change up the scenery, the staff even offer day trips around Bali or can provide you with motor bikes and cars available to rent.
One thing Rapture Surf Camps in both Cliff and Padang do very well is cater for everyone’s needs. Bali, Cliff-
If you want to find solace in one of the most beautiful, unspoilt surf spots in Bali, Green Bowl is the place for you. Rapture Surf Camp at Cliff is located just 80 meters behind this hidden gem, a surf spot that get its name from the stunning phenomenon of the bowl-shaped ocean floor reflecting the greenery of the surrounding hills. With plenty of fast, hollow waves and a surf season that tends to extend year-long, it’s a wonder how this place has remained so uncrowded.
Nicaragua-
