As a traveller, you’re bound to pick up the odd bits and bobs from each country that you pass through. We always say ‘this time I won’t buy anything’… But let’s face it, that never really sticks! When asked where you got your outfit from, it’s pretty fun to go through each piece and name the city or country where you sourced it.
So your wardrobe might be bulging from worldly materials, but perhaps you’re missing some basic wardrobe essentials that will pack up small and help you look pretty darn stylish on city trips? Especially now we’re hitting the time of year where some places in Europe are still delightfully warm, but it’s beginning to cool off in other places. A time of year referred to as ‘transeason’.
There’s nothing more frustrating than having to pack for a variety of temperatures; for the warmth of the day, for cool evenings and being prepped for the odd rain shower. “Always be prepared” is a good mantra to keep but it’s a bit of a burden when packing. The secret is layering and having pieces that will have you feeling cool during a warm day, but you’re able to tweak the outfit for those cool evenings when the sun disappears.
It’s easy to look stylish when travelling, but keeping warm while looking cool can be troublesome.  You’ve just got to have some wardrobe essentials that can adjust with the fluctuating temperatures and will easily fool people into thinking you’re not living out of a suitcase. Dress like a tourist? Not on our watch! Take a look at what layers we’re packing to keep warm during this ‘in-between’ season.

Warm travels definitely help with the packing mission, but when in the transeason, the day outfit might not translate to an evening outfit that leaves you feeling warm. With a limited wardrobe, it sucks when you’re literally left out in the cold and shivering in your thin maxi dress. The day’s warmth becomes a distant memory and you’re damning the day that you thought you’d be fine with one thin jumper and a scarf. Don’t be that cold woman and pack some key pieces that can shield you from the evening chill!
Choose which jacket to take wisely, pack quality jumpers, remember to layer and finish off with a scarf – voila! You’re ready for the elements.
