just a quick heads up about an online competition that you might be interested in: the 10-day Winter Norway Challenge. The international tourism division in Norway is sending 5 European adventure seekers on a trip to remember: a challenging expedition throughout the country including dog sledding, skiing, camping (in the snow!) and other outdoor activities.
All expenses (including flights, accomodation, 3 meals a day and basic kit and gear for surviving in the wilderness) are covered – all you need to do is provide the courage and adventure spirit to embark on this one-of-a-kind journey. The travel route, which was inspired by the Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen (the first person to reach both the North and South Poles) leads throughout the country, starting off in the capital Oslo and continuing through the Norwegian Fjord up to the North Cape.
To enter the competition, you need to upload a one-minute video to the website (in either English, Spanish, German or Dutch), giving a creative reason for why you should be one of the luck five explorers. According to the competition website, “entries can be anything from a story showing your qualities as an explorer, a re-creation of Amundsen’s expedition to the Arctic in your garden, or telling us what the 5 unique items would be for the trip and why. You can also show your explorer quality by how you conquer your fears or face challenges”.
A jury will evaluate all entries and chose the winners, yet you can increase your chances of winning the competition by drawing attention to your video on Facebook and Twitter. For more information or to take part in the competition, visit the official website or Facebook page.
But hurry up, deadline for submissions is January 31st!
