Saying goodbye isn’t easy (unless you do it drinking punch and wearing costumes)

I don’t think I could have timed it more perfectly: my last weekend in England and an American Apparel hosted Halloween Burlesque night in Bristol?! Hell yes. Talk about a Bon Voyage party in style!

It was the perfect opportunity to scrap together some family and friends, dress up, hit the bottle and paint the town blood red. The timing of  a great night and the fact that its going to be a hell of a long time until I’ll next see my loved ones was a little bit overwhelming though. The drunken haze that veiled over the night left some great photos and last memories of England, but the emotional tearful moments were interrupted with distractions: “O my god, I can’t believe you’re going for such a long time, I’m really going to miss you, I’m really…*pause* I love this song lets dance!

Here’s me and my feline sister, Alex. I’m going to miss her so much, but she’ll be out in Thailand in December, thank heavens! At least Christmas and New Years won’t involve me sitting alone on a beach in a sad wilted party hat and the sounds of my lonesome tooting on a party horn being my only company.

Civilised lunches and dinners have been lined up for every eve this week in order to say the appropiate farewells and give opportunity to soak up as much of each others company before it’s time for me to fly the nest. Even though it is now about three days until I leave, it really hasn’t sunk in that a) I’m leaving so soon. b) how far I’m actually going and c) how long I’m leaving for!! I truely think it won’t hit home until the plane begins descending towards Bangkok. Cue me gripping the arm rests, sitting bolt upright as I suddenly realise how far away I am from home, my bed, my friends and family, English weather, clean toilets, instant coffee and Topshop.
I’ll see you soon England! xx
