Hey Travelettes

As one of the 4 or 5 people who did not leave the city over Easter, I was left with plenty of free to time to think about whether mini-breaks during high season (spells: a time when EVERYONE is going away, traveling somewhere) are good or bad.

Here are first results of what my brain spit out:

pro’s:

– mini-breaks are like sex. even bad ones are still pretty good because you got out and did stuff which is always better than sitting on your ass feeling sorry for yourself

– you are not the only one left behind at home, whose holiday fun consists of a dvd rental service and phone calls to mum.

– traveling in high season assures you will run into loads of other travelers which raises your chances of meeting some really dope new folks

– finally, it’s always nice to leave for a while just to find new appreciation for home upon return.

con’s

– money: traveling during high season is overpriced. flights, hotels, everything costs more with the demand rising to a max.

– relaxation: if you travel to party and meet loads of people, the high season is for you. if it’s relaxation you are after, not the best time.

– you’re missing out on time you could use to catch up on something you’ve been wanting to do for a long time.

As you can tell, I’m running out of decent con’s already, because fact is – traveling is always better than not traveling and I’m just bitter I chose to stay home.

Hope most of you did something fun this Easter.

Happy holidays,

Katja
