I love maps and the map on the girl looks wonderful, even if i do not really believe it is real. Probably just the miracle of the Photoshop era.

I can’t imagine that tattoo is real, but it’s an amazing image! Being an early explorer must have been a fascinating life. Literally having no idea what you are going to find over the next wave or mountain or stretch of desert. What an adventure!

Fabulous maps! It’s amazing that the old cartographers could map with any accuracy at all, considering that they only had sextants and surveying tools too work with. We have an exhibit of early maps relating to exploration and settlement of the American Southwest in the Roundhouse (New Mexico’s Capitol building, in Santa Fe). In some maps the distortions are quite interesting. I LOVE maps! Thanks for sharing.
