Ko phan gan – half moon party
You’ve probably heard of Ko phan gan and you’ve almost definitely heard of full-moon parties before.
Arriving on Ko samui I had missed the last ferry to Ko tao and so decided to spend one night on Ko phan gan. As it turned out the bi-monthly half moon party was happening that night so together with a few others I went to check it out. Not the classiest of parties and most people here probably don’t even know how to spell IQ but a good enough night for some brainless fun.
Here’s a few impressions.

OMG look at all that fried food, heart attack on a plate, there are definitely some characters to avoid in those photographs. But still, that’s what travels are all about, putting yourself outside of your comfort zone and living somebody else’s life for a night. It does look vaguely like Ibiza uncovered though, and those buckets certainly bring back memories. Shudder! I think that may have been the island I escaped to a four star hotel on, it was the equivalent in price to a travel lodge, yet was complete luxury.
