A Tribute to Belgrade
The news about the outcome of the recent gay pride parade in Serbia got me feeling pretty down. Belgrade was easily one of my favorite destinations from my year in Europe and somewhere I fell a little bit in love with. I can’t quite explain the feeling of this city, but I felt so captivated and wanted to dive head first into all the chaos. I’m not entirely sure what mainstream opinion is of Belgrade and of Serbia, but I know it’s not a typical travel destination. I thought I’d share some photos and my perspective on this city, maybe one that isn’t so big in the news headlines lately…

i lived in serbia for half a year during my childhood, it was one of the best things that have happened to me so far – even though my family was evacuated on numerous occations due to the civil war. it is really a beautiful city, and i can only agree with you jaclyn: definitely worth a visit! hope i can go back sometime soon
j, what a great time we had in belgrade! seeing an article about this city on travelettes made me happy
you should have included a pic of the concrete watermelonslices though.
