The first one is very quite, but it is not very practical in rainy time. Except you don’t mind to go straight to the bed with all your wet and dirty shoes and clothes.
True, but it is incredibly cute – and I guess you could travel to a camp site with those facilities if it’s rainy.
Re: #9 – I’m pretty sure that’s a Boler trailer.
Thanks Erin!
I am pretty certain that #9 is a Boler travel trailer.
Oops, failed to read the previous comments before posting mine
What about those bicycle camping trailer? I always wanted to build one of those myself. Just imagine combing biking, travelling and camping. It is a dream come true.
@julia, yes – those are gorgeous! katja actually wrote a post about the camper biker a while back. have a look at it here: http://www.travelettes.net/the-camper-bike/
They’re all so cute!! <3
The Blue green camper looks like a scamp. Very cute!
You should check out the Compact Camping Concepts Explorer Box and Dinoot trailers. Both are compact, budget friendly DIY camping trailers
just got home from a 4000 mile road trip, and the only vehicles we saw broken down by the side of the road were VW campers. don’t let the cute looks deceive you: they are expensive to maintain and will never be reliable enough that you can leave your tools at home. A vintage trailer is a far better idea! The Opera camper is fantastic – thank you for posting it! happy travels – A
Thanks for the great pix! adamr, while it is true that old VW busses are not the most dependable, I had a 1978 Westfalia for 11 years and took many 4000 mile road trips! It is true that I more than a few times had unplanned adventures due to the old Bus, but I met lots of great folks and had some of the best adventures of my life thanks to that old girl breaking down. Seriously. But alas, I sold her this spring because I have a baby now and want to keep the family safe. I am in the process of repairing a 1968 KIT lo-liner travel trailer. Looking forward to the new experiences of the travel trailer life!
Just to confirm, Number 9 is definitely a Boler made in Earlton Ontario Canada. I was one of the people who worked there at the time. They are hard to miss.
Gerry
